I’ve been struggling the last few months with the issue of plagiarism at Central. Every semester, it comes up and it’s difficult for me to come up with a satisfactory answer that fits every situation and every student. I know that the following story isn’t perfectly analogous to what we are doing at Central, but there are some similarities. Faced with the issue of a grad student who plagiarized a term paper, the professor chose an unconventional punishment.
